I’ve found about 35 photos of quanah, some with his wives. my wife is a direct descendent of Quanah Parker. Her grandmother is Quanah’s great granddaughter and is still alive today. Still doing research on all the wives and children. David E.

I have some family records claiming Im kin to Quanium. I would like to verify this and go to the reunion this year if verified. Can anybody help me with names of the boys if any? I have read he had 25 kids. Any help would be appreciated.

Another wife was Choney. There are many ways to spell it: Chony; Shonee; etc…

Family Reunion and Powwow

The Quanah Parker Society, P.O. Box 181, Cache, OK 73527 holds an annual family reunion and powwow. Events usually include pilgrimage to sacred site in Quanah, Texas, Tour of his “Star Home” in Cache, OK, Dinner (RSVP), Memorial Service at Fort Sill Post Cemetery, Gourd Dance, Pow-wow (Grand Entry), and Worship Services. Hi Jessie: You asked for Quanah’s wives’ names. You might try writing to the Quanah Parker Society. They may have a list. And if you get a list, please email me and I will post them. His first wife’s name was Weakeah and Cynthia was another. He divorced two of the wives and when he died he only two wives with him, Cynthia being one of them. He had as many as seven wives during his lifetime. Cheryl

Hi! I live in Quanah, Texas and really enjoy reading tales of Quanah Parker. I was also born in Parker County, Texas. Another tale though tragic was a trip to Ft. Worth in which he & an associate spent the night in a modern hotel (at the time) in which the gas light was blown out at bedtime & the fumes overpowered them both resulting in the death of his friend. (Truth?) Paul C.
